Bolis tradition

A traditional dessert from Mexico and Spanish speaking America.

The name of this traditional dessert varies in each region and country, what doesn´t is the general way to make it and enjoy it.

It is a frozen dessert of several flavors, carried in a plastic bag.  We can find three main varieties, based on milk, on natural water or with full or chopped fruit.  There are also the industrial versions, but they won’t be as good as the artisanal ones, not only because of their sugar content but for the added amount of additives and preservatives, and the lack of real fruit.

The best season to consume it is during the warm seasons, but can also be taken throughout the year, since they are delicious and cold desserts are always pleasant.
